Relationships can be difficult, but there are certain things people do that make them even more of a challenge. Having a healthy relationship doesn’t mean that you have to be perfect. No one is perfect. If you have bad relationship habits though, you do want try to break them in order to have a healthy relationship.

1. Jealousy
A small amount of jealousy in relationships is perfectly fine. It makes people feel wanted and attractive. Jealousy becomes a problem when it begins dictating how one person lives, where they can go, and who they can talk to. Jealousy can ruin otherwise healthy relationships. If you’re overly jealous, you need to figure out if you are insecure or if you don’t trust your partner and then figure out how to solve the problem from there.

2. Taking one another for granted
If you’ve been dating someone for a while, it’s easy to begin expecting things from your partner when it become routine. It’s important to always show your appreciation for things your partner does. Don’t forget to say “thank you.” When one partner begins to feel unappreciated and taken for granted, problems will arise.

3. You sacrifice everything you want for your partner
This seems like it would be a sweet idea, but giving in to everything your partner wants actually creates an unequal relationship. Doing everything to make your partner happy and ignoring your own happiness is a bad idea because is gives your partner the idea that ignoring your wants and needs is okay.

4. You want things done your way
